Refreshing Waters

012

There is nothing like spending a few hours in the vibrant beauty of God’s creation to give one a fresh perspective.

We were able to take advantage of that opportunity recently, traveling 5 hours north of Choluteca to the mountainous city of Siguatepeque to visit my cousin Malerie.

It was a lovely few days, with a leisurely walk exploring the town,  sipping steaming cups of coffee, enjoying the joys of companionship with family, and a special highlight; exploring a local cloud forest.001

There is certainly nothing lush and refreshing about the vegetation in Choluteca and all of us were eager to hit the trails for a few hours.

We even had to wear jackets!

Do plants grow this big where you are?!?  Yikes!

Perfect for the imaginative mind!

We decided to opt out of crossing this ‘swinging bridge’!  Swinging alright!  We would have been swinging to our deaths/detriment below!

Of course – Breylon was up for it but Mom put a stop to that idea!

Along the way we found a look out tower and all decided it was fine place to partake of leftover Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches, veges and apples and chips!

With this kind of view, why not!

A lovely day, topped off with a meal to assuage the largest appetite!  It doesn’t get much better then this!

Thanks God for a delightful day of friends, nature and fellowship!
