It was great fun on Wednesday when little “Peluquita” arrived on the scene! (You can even find her on FB @ peluquitaysusamigosShalom!)
Peluquita captured the attention of 80+ kids as she laughed and chirped and teased her way through such subjects as the evils of robbing change from your grandpa and how to live forever with Jesus in your heart!
Smiles continue as we learn and work together this week on how we can be Frogs for Jesus…otherwise known in Spanish as Sapos for Jesus. As always … there is a reason to the wacky themes that go hand in hand with VBS. To be a sapo for Jesus, we must:![]()
S: Servir (serve those around us)
A: Amar (love those around us)
P: Perdonar (forgive those around us)
O: Obedecer (obey God’s rules for our lives)
As for those of us leading…we try to keep our own smiles firmly in place when we have 90 kids all begging for a green crayon with which to color, when we wade through the masses of squashed together chairs to pass out 180 frog hands and googly eyes and when everyone needs the 4 bottles of glue we are trying to share among all!
It is not too hard really. And it is worth it all when you feel that hug from behind and an eager voice saying, “Good-bye! I’ll see you tomorrow!”
