Our week of VBS flew by in a flurry of spirited singing, meticulous (and some not so much) coloring and committing verses to heart!
Of the 480+ children involved in VBS throughout the region this week, 380 received an eagerly awaited diploma at the closing ceremony. Receiving a diploma meant you attended classes for at least 4 of the 5 days of Bible School. And not only did they receive a diploma…but also a special treat of a mandarin orange and pack of cookies!
At times it feels like a week of Bible school is but a drop in the bucket to combat the sea of difficult circumstances many of these children face every day. Reality is…our efforts alone are and only, ever will be a ‘drop in the bucket’ of the world’s problems.
Thankfully, working hand in hand with God provides a different reality!
God asks us to plant seeds. He will bring the growth. Gods asks us to be faithful to share His word, regardless of how it is received. He will cultivate the soil. God asks us to be faithful in the small things. He will make them increase and grow and develop and blossom according to His plan!
And for that we are praying in the lives of each of these children who heard the word of God this week.
